ROBERTO WEIL
Caricaturista y pintor venezolano. Se graduó de ingeniero en la Universidad de Massachusetts, en Amherst. Practica senderismo. Ha publicado tres libros con sus caricaturas: Anécdotas de un Sueño Revolucionario (2006); La bota que derramó el vaso (2010) y No le hagas al potro lo que no quieras que te hagan a ti (2012). Ha ilustrado dos novelas gráficas publicadas por el profesor Ilan Stavans de Amherst College: Mr. Spic goes to Washington (2008) y Don Quixote of La Mancha, en Spanglish (2019). Sus dibujos, pinturas y esculturas han sido exhibidas en exposiciones individuales y colectivas en Venezuela y EEUU. Ha sido galardonado con los siguientes premios: Premio a la Excelencia Periodística, Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa, Ciudad de México, México (2016); Premio Pedro León Zapata, Diario El Nacional, Caracas, Venezuela (2001 y 2011); Caricaturista del Año, Consejo Nacional del Comercio y los Servicios, Caracas, Venezuela (2010); Premio Municipal de Periodismo como Caricaturista, Municipio Libertador, Caracas, Venezuela (2003). Desde 2019 es miembro de la asociación internacional Cartooning for Peace. Actualmente vive y trabaja en EEUU.

Graphic artist: Cartoonist and Painter, graduated as an Engineer from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Has published three books with a collection of his cartoons: Anecdotes of a revolutionary dream (2006); The boot that spilled the cup (2010) and Don't do to the horse what you don't want them to do to you (2012). He has illustrated two graphic novels published by Amherst College professor Ilan Stavans: Mr. Spic goes to Washington (2008) and Don Quixote of La Mancha, in Spanglish (2019). Has exhibited his drawings, paintings, and sculptures in solo and group shows, in Venezuela and in the USA. Has been awarded with: Journalistic Excellence Award, Inter-American Press Association, Mexico City, Mexico (2016); Pedro León Zapata Award, El Nacional newspaper, Caracas, Venezuela (2001 and 2011); Cartoonist of the Year, National Council of Commerce and Services, Caracas, Venezuela (2010); Municipal Award for Journalism as a cartoonist, Caracas, Venezuela (2003). A member of the international association Cartooning for Peace since 2019. He currently lives and works in the USA.
